There is major disruption on two Merseyrail lines this afternoon, with rail replacement buses being requested.
The travel provider posted on Twitter at around 3pm on Monday, May 22, to inform passengers there would be "major disruption" on the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines during rush hour. They added the disruption was due to a "points failure" at Birkenhead Central.
Rail replacement buses have been requested to run between Hamilton Square and Birkenhead Central. A total of 16 services have been affected by changes to the points failure.
