A new report has show that "radical reform" is needed to end the "frightening trend" of increasing numbers of Welsh children being taken into care.
An inquiry by the Senedd's Children, Young People and Education Committee has found that there are urgent changes needed to Wales’s care system. The inquiry has been led by the voices of young people from across Wales with direct experience of the care system. Many said they felt ignored and powerless, with no say in the decisions that affect their lives.
Shockingly, the number of children in care in Wales has increased by almost 23% since 2013. This graph shows how the numbers have increased.
