A young man claims his family is now "livid" at him for refusing to attend his own sister's wedding, but feels he is being treated unfairly. His right to a plus one was revoked after a brief flirtation with one of his sister's friends, which ended disastrously. According to this 26-year-old man, he was attracted to this friend, whose name is Zoe, after meeting her at his sister's engagement party, but his sister warned him away, stressing he "wasn't her type."
Apparently ignoring this advice, he asked for Zoe's number and they ended up going out on two dates. However, it soon became clear they didn't have much in common. He learned she was a virgin who didn't drink, being "very religious", and felt they just had overall "very different lifestyles and goals."
After the second date, he decided to let things "fizzle out", but ended up sending a late-night text after getting drunk, asking her if she wanted to come over to his, a message he admits was "stupid." She didn't respond, and they never spoke again.
