Manchester Airport has been lent council workers to help the company bring the chaos that has plagued it for weeks to an end.

Council leaders freed up staff to help the airport with its urgent recruitment drive as the airport was hit by the perfect storm of a staffing crisis and surge in passengers in recent weeks.

The drafted workers will help with tasks such as working through job applications and “supporting” the interview process, Manchester Evening News reported.
