SHOCKING: Many teens exposed to sexual content - What They Never Told You

One in three Thais aged 14–17 has been exposed to nude or sexual content online, a study has found.

The report was produced by research group Evident and the HUG Project, with support from the World Childhood Foundation.

The report was based on a survey of nearly 2,000 youngsters aged 9-17 in seven northern provinces from August 2024-March 2025.

Findings show that one in three of the participants reported knowing peers at their schools who had shared or received sexual content -- including nude images of others they believed to be under the age of 18, adult pornography and even AI deepfakes.

Almost half (46%) of respondents cited gaining likes and followers as a key motivation for sharing sexual content, followed by financial incentives such as money or gifts (45%), and seeking validation (40%). Around 34% believed young people were pressured, tricked or coerced into sharing content.
