During a recent testimony before Congress, Michael Cohen, former attorney to President Trump, faced questioning regarding his acceptance of responsibility for his actions. Cohen confirmed that he had repeatedly stated under oath that he had accepted responsibility for his conduct, acknowledging that he was going to prison as a result.
However, when pressed by Trump attorney Todd Blanche on whether lying under oath truly constituted accepting responsibility, Cohen sought clarification on the question. Blanche further inquired if pleading guilty to a crime while lying could be considered taking responsibility for one's actions.
