Reports from the U.N. refugee agency and the Italian coast guard have indicated that approximately 20 migrants are unaccounted for following a tragic incident in the Mediterranean Sea. The distressing event occurred when a boat carrying migrants capsized, prompting a rescue operation near the southern Italian island of Lampedusa.
Rescuers managed to save seven Syrian individuals who were aboard the vessel, bringing them to safety on Lampedusa. Unfortunately, the survivors were in critical condition, with some having lost their family members in the ordeal.
