UNCOVERED: Monkeypox expert does not expect another pandemic | History Defined

The World Health Organisation’s top monkeypox expert said she does not expect another pandemic despite a surge in cases — but admitted there are still many unknowns about the disease.

Dr Rosamund Lewis insisted the threat to the general population was “low” but acknowledged it was unknown whether monkeypox is being transmitted by sex or just the close contact between people engaging in sexual activity.
