CHANDIGARH: If the batters failed to live up to the expectations on the opening day, it was the Chandigarh bowlers, who struggled and conceded a healthy 230-run first innings lead as Baroda raced to 398 for 7 at stumps on the second day of their Elite Group B Ranji Trophy encounter at Cuttack on Friday.
Vishnu Solanki slammed an unbeaten 103 after opener Jyotsnil Singh (96) missed out an equally deserving three-figure mark, to take Baroda to a commanding position at the end of the day's action. At close of play, Vishnu and Atit Sheth (18 batting) went back unscathed.
