BENGALURU: Mumbai batsmen have been unstoppable in the last five days. Only rain could have prevented them from piling further misery on Uttar Pradesh and that is what happened on the final day of their Ranji Trophy semifinal at the Just Cricket ground here on Saturday.
Overnight rain ensured just 71 minutes of play was possible with the last day's proceedings starting only after lunch. The duration was enough for Sarfaraz Khan (59 n.o, 100b, 1x4, 3x6) and Shams Mulani (51 n.o, 89b, 6x4) to help themselves to half-centuries before the 41-time champions declared their second innings at 533/4. Having already booked their slot in the title round on Friday with a massive lead, Mumbai completed their domination in the drawn contest with a 742-run lead.
