NAGPUR: In another case of encroachment on public space, a private contractor has setup 11 commercial kiosks and installed a huge iron frame for a planned restaurant on an 8,000 sq feet patch of Sawarakar Nagar garden under Laxmi Nagar zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
Residents, including a retired Neeri scientist and a DRDO scientist, have opposed the illegal construction saying it would create nuisance in the residential area beside hindering physical activities near the children’s play area.
