THE TRUTH ABOUT: New boutique classic collection - Caught on Camera

The partnership between Patek Philippe and Cortina Watch has been reinforced by the opening of their first duplex boutique in Southeast Asia at Post 1928 Building, One Bangkok.

Spanning 291m² across two levels, this new address stands out with an external façade featuring intricate kirigami-style patterns inspired by the Calatrava Cross -- Patek Philippe's trademark since 1887.

A family of round wristwatches is named after this emblem, while other collections include the Cubitus, Golden Ellipse, Nautilus and Twenty-4.

The duplex boutique, however, is more than a retail space for these models, as the interior design reflects the independence and artisanal mastery of the last family-owned Genevan manufacture.

An exhibition corner on the ground level traces the history and key milestones of the maison, from its genesis in 1839 to the inception of new era under the Stern family in 1932 and on to the end of the first quarter of the 21st century.

On the upper floor, a lounge and bar area provide an inviting atmosphere to engage with the timepieces, while three discreet salons offer privacy for personalised consultations.

At the heart of the atrium, a 7m centrepiece by a legendary glassmaker anchors the vertical volume of the duplex, adding brilliance and spatial harmony. Its mouth-blown crystal, formed through a centuries-old process of repeated firing and cooling, casts a radiant, warm glow throughout the space.

Meanwhile, Patek Philippe's commitment to preserving rare handcrafts is expressed through an annual collection of exceptional pocket watches, wristwatches and dome table clocks.

One of the ancestral techniques, wood marquetry demands dexterity, precision and patience in decorating a dial.

The boutique presents this exquisite art on a larger scale, on a wall meticulously constructed from fine wood veneer, hand-assembled to form intricate pictorial designs.

Inspired by a dome table clock, the Tropical Island triptych portrays turtles, tropical fish and coral, resonating with the beauty of the marine ecosystem in Southeast Asia.
