South Sydney have upgraded Ashton Ward to their top 30 squad, re-signing the up-and-coming halfback on a deal that runs until the end of the 2028 season.

Prior to Tuesday's announcement, 22-year-old Ward had been the NRL's only first-choice No.7 unsure of his playing future beyond 2026.
