Mainstream suicide prevention services will team up with veteran-specific organisations to ensure there is "no wrong door" for ex-serving defence members and their families when accessing mental health support.

The federal government will on Thursday announce a new framework for veteran suicide prevention to bring a whole-of-society approach to providing care.
