NSW have overcome a couple of stumbles to regain ascendancy in their Sheffield Shield clash with South Australia in Wollongong.
The Blues went to lunch on the final day at 6-161 in their second innings - an overall lead of 239 - with Baxter Halt (39no) and Ben Dwarshuis (12no) at the crease.
NSW started the final day at 3-35 in their second innings - a lead of 113 - and they moved to 3-70 before Moises Henriques (19) edged Brendan Doggett behind.
The Blues were looking relatively comfortable at 4-103 before suffering a double blow.
Doggett (2-44) removed Sean Abbott for a quick-fire 18, before Wes Agar (3-28) snared the crucial scalp of Jason Sangha (41) as NSW staggered to 6-107.
But Halt and Dwarshuis have since steadied the ship with a 54-run stand, giving the Blues a handy lead in their bid to push for victory with just two sessions remaining in the match.
The clash has already featured a few twists and turns.
South Australia were struggling to avoid the follow-on on Wednesday after slumping to 8-229 in reply to NSW's 5(dec)-389.
The Redbacks eventually scrambled their way to 311 courtesy of Doggett's 49 batting at No.10, and their three late blows on Wednesday afternoon set up an intriguing final-day battle.
