FOUND: Packers training camp report live updates from practice no 4 | Mind Blowing Facts

The Green Bay Packers held a closed practice to the public on Friday but will re-open on Saturday morning for the fourth practice of training camp.

This will be the last practice before the pads come on Monday. Sunday is a mandated off day for players.

What will Day 4 bring at Ray Nitschke Field?

Here’s everything to know from Saturday, July 29, the fourth training camp practice of 2023:

What to know from Matt LaFleur's pre-practice press conference

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur waves to fans

— On releasing Jonathan Garvin on his birthday: Timing wasn’t great, but business of NFL never stops.

— Improving offense: Focused on process over results at this point.

— On depth chart: Will move guys around regularly. “I don’t want these guys thinking about the depth chart at this point.”

— On Jordan Love’s strengths: Still learning, but they’ve seen so much growth over four years. Command on the field gives Packers a lot of confidence. He’s not afraid of hard work. Understands protections very well.

— Need a slot receiver? A lot of it is matchup based. Depends on the nickel the offense is facing.

— Safety competition is fluid. Savage has had a “pretty strong” camp. Hoping he carries it over to pads.

— Hoping Dallin Leavitt can take a jump in Year 2 of playing in Joe Barry’s defense.

— On Colby Wooden: Good kid, love his approach to the game, studies his butt off. “We’re going to have to count on him.”

— On Love scrambling: Wants him to play decisive, be natural, be instictive.

— On Lukas Van Ness: Big learning curve for edge rushers in this system.

— Packers will do two-minute/end of half periods to determine winner offense vs. defense on Saturday.

— Tough start for rookie kicker Anders Carlson, who started the day 0-for-3 from between 45 and 50. He later made 1-of-3 from 50-plus.

— Love to Toure in the two-minute drill for another big gainer.

— Love was excellent during the final period.

— Defense wins the challenge again. Up downs for the offense. The defense is 3-for-3 to start camp.
