Paetongtarn "Ung Ing" Shinawatra of the Pheu Thai Party has more than double the support of her nearest rivals for the post of prime minister, Pita Limjaroenrat of the Move Forward Party and Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha of the United Thai Nation Party, an opinion poll showed on Sunday.

Her party, Pheu Thai, has even greater support – almost 50% of the vote – compared to other parties vying for House seats, according to the first pre-election survey in the lead-up to the general election in May conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration, or Nida Poll.
