The Paris Olympics 2024 are not just about the city of Paris; they extend beyond its borders to various locations in France and even Tahiti. This strategic decision was made to accommodate the diverse needs of different sporting disciplines, ensuring suitable facilities and promoting sustainability. Only two new venues were constructed in Paris, with the rest chosen based on space and infrastructure requirements.
Winning athletes at the Paris Olympics receive a unique package containing the official poster and a special stuffed Olympic Phryges corresponding to their medal. The Olympic Phryge, the mascot of Paris 2024, symbolizes the French Revolution through its design. The Paralympics mascot shares a similar design but includes a prosthetic leg.
