A North East development company is planning its largest project yet with a scheme that would create more than 80 flats in a trendy area of Newcastle.
George Jenkins, MD of Modo Bloc, wants to redevelop the former Grieveson’s yard in Ouseburn. The company has submitted plans to Newcastle City Council to create 84 one, two and three-bedroomed apartments on the one-acre site, saying that many of the flats will have their own balconies.
The development - which would also include some business units available for retail and other uses - would be Modo Bloc’s largest scheme to date. The company has previously been involved in a number of housing, student accommodation and commercial developments in the North East, including some in Ouseburn.
