Weeks of protests, riots and clashes with police have culminated in an attack on a famous Paris eatery with links to embattled President Emmanuel Macron.
La Rotonde, whose awning was set ablaze as protesters threw stones, bottles and paint at police on Thursday, is well known in France for hosting a celebratory dinner by Mr Macron as he led the first round of the 2017 presidential election.
