Qatari mediators have presented Iran with the latest proposal to end the war with the U.S., but Tehran dismissed it as chances of renewed escalations appear to be climbing again.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters on Wednesday that the offer passed on by Doha only included "unacceptable ideas" that did not amount to an offer.
