A UK probe into a suspected bomb plot at an airbase used by the United States was mired in confusion on Tuesday, after police said no explosives were detected in the vehicles seized nearby.
"Those vehicles have been subject to extensive examination, with the support of military assets and forensic experts, and we can confirm that no improvised explosive devices were found," Laurence Taylor, the head of National Counter Terrorism Policing in the UK, said in an update on Tuesday.
