NAGPUR: The end turned out to be short and sweet for Vidarbha. Just 50 minutes into Day 5 the team was celebrating. With a62-run win over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha ended the five-year wait for a berth in final. The win means the Ranji summit clash will be a Maharashtra derby.
Vidarbha will battle it out with Mumbai for domestic supremacy at Wankhede from Sunday. Vidarbha cleared the last hurdle - four lower-order MP wickets - with alacrity on Wednesday. Two young medium pacers, Aditya Thakare and Yash Thakur, hit the timber twice each to send MP packing at 258 in 81.3 overs.
