Security has become an essential pillar of modern society, fostering the stability of businesses, communities, and critical infrastructure. According to Curtis Gill, founder of Executive Security Professionals & Investigations LLC, effective security extends beyond physical presence to include strategic planning, risk assessment, and advanced technologies.

Gill points out that organizations today need well-trained security professionals to protect assets, ensure safety, and maintain operational continuity and public confidence. In his view, this is why Executive Security emphasizes the importance of in-house training in the company. "We have set up structured in-house training programs that meet the requirements laid down by the state as well as our clients' demands. This way, we become more compliant and able to provide better service," says Gill.

He also notes how crucial it is to treat employees as individuals with long-term potential rather than as expendable resources. "I was in sales before, and a common factor I have noticed in both sales and security is the lack of a human approach. Treating people as expendable numbers results in high turnover and poor service quality," remarks Gill. Most of Executive Security's guards and security personnel are ex-cops and ex-police chiefs, some with 25 years of experience, according to Gill.

Executive Security attributes its strength to the fine balance of clients and security personnel. "We prioritize service and our employees' well-being equally, because we believe the two are interconnected. Our guards go through structured training, regular on-site check-ins, and continuous feedback. We make sure they are confident in their roles and capable of meeting client expectations," Gill says.

Gill also notes from his experience that business owners often do not understand the necessity of security until an incident takes place. He says, "We walk our clients through how different services work together, like showing a restaurant owner how upgrading from an unarmed to an armed guard could provide significantly better protection. We educate clients about security needs and help them understand the ROI."

Executive Security provides a wide range of security solutions, including private security to deter threats and safeguard properties, event security for managing safety at gatherings such as concerts and corporate functions, and private investigations.

"Many organizations fail to recognize the broader skill sets of their employees. Everyone comes with a different set of unique skills. What we do is invest in people and offer opportunities for growth across disciplines," says Gill.

He notes that across parts of the industry, guards are often undervalued, insufficiently trained, and deployed without proper licensing or follow-through. Such practices, he adds, might expose companies to regulatory risks and undermine the career prospects of employees who are frequently cycled out without meaningful development.

Executive Security believes genuine care for both employees and clients is the foundation of a premium security provider. "I make sure my employees always receive their paychecks on time. For most of them, that is a new experience. And it makes them feel more secure in their skills and service," says Gill.

Executive Security also partners with technical schools and runs internal classroom training sessions, with flexible payment options where employees can either pay for training or have it deducted from their paycheck. Beyond initial certification, the company conducts field-based reinforcement training to ensure guards understand post-specific requirements and regulations. This layered approach of combining state-mandated compliance training with practical, site-specific preparation, Gill says, ensures quality service delivery.

Executive Security sees its future in the convergence of physical and cyber security. "We have been using AI-enabled cameras and drone technology since 2021, and we plan to expand into ATM runs, drone security, and comprehensive cybersecurity services. I think combining armed guards with AI surveillance can help with real-time threat detection and facial recognition," Gill remarks. "That way, we can offer clients a complete security ecosystem that prevents losses before they happen."
