After every gruesome murder, the debate over capital punishment returns.

The issue has resurfaced following last week's alleged murder of five people in Chon Buri by Thana "Pong" Kerdthong, a former inmate who had previously served prison terms for various offences. Another of the four alleged accomplices is also a former inmate.
