A phone call from Sir Alex Ferguson almost had Robert Lewandowski on his way to Manchester United in 2012.
Lewandowski was making a name for himself as one of the best young strikers in Europe during his time at Borussia Dortmund. Although he remained at the club for four years and in the Bundesliga for eight more years, the Poland international had a move to the Premier League at the forefront of his mind in the early days of his career.
