KOCHI: In a novel initiative, the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) will deploy robots in its stations to assist passengers and for crowd management. The first robot will take up the job at the JLN Stadium Station and later the project would be extended to all stations.
KMRL is implementing the project with the support of Federal Institute of Science and Technology, (FISAT) Angamaly. KMRL MD Loknath Behera said the first robot will be launched on August 15 or on the Thiruvonam Day. “The robots will interact with the public and they will act as floor managers of the stations,” he said.
