With heavy rain and thunderstorms continuing in several parts of India, students and parents are waiting for updates on whether schools will remain open or closed on September 2. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall in several regions, with heavy showers possible across parts of north, central and eastern India.
However, there is currently no announcement declaring September 2 a nationwide or blanket school holiday because of rain. Any weather-related closure will depend on decisions taken by state governments, district administrations or individual schools based on local conditions such as flooding, waterlogging, landslides and unsafe travel.
