Adam Scott and Cam Davis have made solid starts to the new PGA season at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

But the Australians have their work cut out in trying to catch co-tournament leaders Nick Taylor and Kevin Roy, who both fired eight-under 62s at the Waiae Country Club in Honolulu on Thursday.

Scott was flying from Australia and figured Waialae, one of his favourite courses, was on the way to California for his next two starts.
