Scottie Scheffler, the dominant force in golf since May of last year, is set to compete in the men's golf competition at Le Golf National, aiming to add an Olympic gold medal to his impressive collection of trophies. With six PGA Tour victories under his belt this year, Scheffler leads a field of 60 players, including the top seven in the world rankings.
Despite his stellar performance, Scheffler faces tough competition from Xander Schauffele, the PGA and British Open champion. Hideki Matsuyama acknowledges Scheffler and Schauffele as the players to beat for any medals.
