FORGOTTEN HISTORY: Scottish fa confirm rangers vs celtic referee appointment - The Untold Story

The Scottish FA have put their faith in Don Robertson to referee the upcoming Rangers vs Celtic fixture.

The two Glasgow rivals will go head-to-head at Ibrox on January 2, with Celtic currently holding a 14 point lead at the top of Scottish Premiership

David Roome and Ross Macleod will assist Robertson - who has been a SPFL official since 2014 and FIFA listed beyond 2017.

While, the experienced Nick Walsh will be accompanied by Daniel McFarlane on VAR.

Celtic were comfortable 3-0 winners when they last met on league duty. However, the outcome was settled on penalties during the recent Scottish League Cup final following a 3-3 draw.

Overall, Rangers have only enjoyed one victory in their last 14 meetings with Celtic in all competitions.
