Social media algorithms and influencer content are actively contributing to the rise of new belief systems and "nihilistic violent extremism", a parliamentary committee has warned.

The Home Affairs Committee has expressed concern that smaller digital platforms “are not receiving sufficient regulatory scrutiny”.
