Social Security Fairness Act Checklist.

The Social Security Fairness Act (SSFA) was passed and signed into law in the final days of 2024, paving the way for over 3 million retirees, spouses and surviving spouses to receive back Social Security benefits and monthly increases going forward.

Retired public sector employees and spouses who are eligible for retroactive benefits from 2024, and an increase in 2025 monthly payments, should have received their monthly increases in their March check that arrived in April.
