Son-of-a-gun Cruz Hewitt believes his eye-opening first Australian Open experience has him better prepared to handle his second crack at the senior Melbourne Park stage.

The teenager, son of Australian tennis great Lleyton Hewitt, has also had to get to grips with a new challenge: a minor hip injury.
