REVEALED: Telangana hc judge in river water panel - The Real Truth

HYDERABAD: The Centre has appointed Justice Vineet Saran of the Supreme Court and Justice Ponugoti Naveen Rao of the Telangana high court a s chairman and m ember respectively of the Ravi and Beas Water Tribunal.

A gazette notification to this effect was issued by the Union jal shakti ministry on Friday. Ravi and Beas Water Tribunal was constituted in 1986 for verification of the q uan tum of usage of water claimed by Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan regarding their share in the r emaining water. The tribunal’s functioning and adjudication are crucial for resolving issues su rrounding Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal.
