THANE: The Thane excise department nabbed three people of a syndicate involved in sale of cheap liquor sourced from Goa and then labelling them as expensive branded content, officials informed.
Dr Nilesh Sangade, superintendent at the Thane excise department said the gang used to smuggle liquor in huge quantities from Goa and then paste fake labels and replace caps on the bottles and sell them to local dhabas and party organisers at local farmhouses in and around Shahapur taluka.
