We all know the rule: reapply SPF every two hours. And we all, if we're honest, largely ignore it. Because who's really going to rub even the best facial sunscreen over a full face of makeup at 2pm in the middle of a heatwave?
It's a habit worth breaking, though. "The reality is that your skin needs the same level of protection at home as it does abroad whenever UV levels are high, so daily SPF and regular reapplication should be part of your routine, not just something you do on holiday," says Anel Lamine, Skin and Skincare Expert, Facialist and Owner of Skin By Anel Lamine. "The most important step is applying a broad-spectrum SPF and reapplying it regularly throughout the day. Sunscreen won't completely eliminate sun damage, but it significantly reduces your risk."
