KOLKATA: Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan predicts a bright future for the current Indian team. His optimism is largely based on new coach Rahul Dravid's method. Having played under Dravid for Team India, Pathan feels the former Karnataka batter is the "most underrated captain" of the country. "I think we have won the most number of matches while chasing under Dravid," Pathan said on the sidelines of a programme where he was named the brand ambassador of Kolkata's Mohammedan Sporting club here on Monday. "He is a very good planner with a deep understanding of the game," he stated.
The Baroda player was impressed while undergoing a coaching course at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru when Dravid was at its helm. "He (Dravid) had put a proper system in place, which was the same for everyone irrespective of the fact that we all came from different backgrounds," he said.
