Former President Donald Trump has distanced himself from Project 2025, a conservative blueprint for the next Republican president, despite significant involvement from individuals closely associated with his administration. The 900-page playbook, crafted by the Heritage Foundation, counts six former Cabinet secretaries, four ambassador nominees, and numerous immigration policy enforcers among its contributors.
Over 140 individuals who worked in the Trump administration played a role in Project 2025, with ties ranging from day-to-day staff to high-ranking officials. The project aims to overhaul the executive branch and recruit conservative-minded individuals for federal positions.
