In Ecuador, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of prosecutor Cesar Suarez. The incident occurred on Wednesday as Suarez was driving to a drug-related hearing in Guayaquil, the country's largest city, according to a source within the Attorney General's office.
Cesar Suarez had been overseeing the investigation into a recent attack on an Ecuadorian TV network by armed men. This attack, along with a series of other violent incidents in the country, has prompted the government to declare a 60-day state of emergency, aiming to address the escalating violence.
