NEW DELHI: Two Asian Games-bound Indian athletes have been dropped from the country's contingent for the Hangzhou Games after failing the dope test for banned performance-enhancing substances, TOI has leant.
Swimmer Ananya Nayak, who had set a new national record in women's 100m freestyle event at the senior Nationals in Hyderabad in July, has been provisionally suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency (Nada) for returning positive for nandrolone. The anabolic steroid is a performance-enhancing drug which increases muscle strength and speeds up the recovery.
