The police stations at Tindivanam and Brammadesam in Villupuram district have received ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Their record in law enforcement and prevention, detection and investigation of crimes, response to emergencies and provision of support services for maintaining peace in their jurisdiction have met the criteria for the ISO certification, according to the certification document.
The two stations have also bagged the award for ‘Workplace Assessment for Safety and Hygiene’ (WASH), a scheme run by the Quality Council of India for commitment to safety and hygiene at the workplace. The stations geared up for the certification a few months ago by adding additional facilities for members of the public.
