Ukraine's air defenses successfully intercepted and shot down 64 out of 114 Russian drones that were launched across the country on Friday, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force. The remaining 41 drones were lost locally, with the Ukrainian Air Force attributing this to the active countermeasures carried out by the electronic warfare capabilities of the Defense Forces.
The Ukrainian Air Force detailed that a coordinated effort involving aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare equipment, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine was instrumental in repelling the drone attack. Most of the drones were taken down over the central regions of Ukraine and in the northeastern areas.
