UNCOVERED: Us state declares june nuclear family month dropping pride recognition - Caught on Camera

  • Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed a resolution designating June as “Nuclear Family Month,” defining the nuclear family as “one husband, one wife, and any biological, adopted, or fostered children.”
  • The resolution, signed on April 9, coincides with Pride Month and describes the nuclear family as “God’s design for familial structure,” drawing criticism from LGBTQ advocates.
  • Critics, including GLAAD, argue that the resolution is an attempt to diminish the LGBTQ community and highlight the diversity of modern family structures.
  • Despite its passage, the Nuclear Family Month resolution carries no enforcement power, allowing Tennesseans to choose whether to observe it.
  • Separately, a Republican-backed bill, the No Pride Flag or Month Act, which sought to ban Pride flags and other LGBTQ symbols in government buildings, failed to advance in a state Senate committee in March.
