The United Thai Nation Party (UTN) opposes the government's plan to export Jet A-1 aviation fuel to Vietnam and the Philippines, arguing the policy mainly benefits oil refineries while undermining Thailand's tourism sector and energy security.
UTN list-MP and deputy leader Atavit Suwanpakdee on Wednesday called on the government to halt aviation fuel exports approved by the National Security Council (NSC) following a proposal from the Ministry of Energy. Mr Atavit argued the ministry's explanation regarding overflowing fuel storage was inaccurate and incomplete.
