There's something interesting — and, some might say, depressing — going on with 8K TVs. They're arguably the most future-proof displays you can find in the market right now, offering you serious picture performance at a hefty premium, and yet, TV makers are dropping their 8K TVs in droves.
Sony and LG stopped selling or majorly advertising 8K TVs back in 2023 and while both TCL and Hisense have 8K TVs on the market, they're a few years old at this point. As of right now, Samsung is one of the only TV makers still launching new 8K models in its 2025 TV lineup.
