An area of Whitehall was cordoned off and evacuated this morning after what was thought to be a suspicious package was found. Met Police officers were called to the scene at Parliament Street shortly before 11.30am.
A spokesperson told the Mirror that multiple cordons were in place. Specialist police officers were in attendance.
The force's first update said: "We have the suspicious package, we have got officers on the scene and we waiting to get confirmation [as to what it is]. Until we get a yes or no, we can't say anymore.
