Bowling lacking variety to succeed in Indian conditions
The make-up of the English bowling line-up is more or less one-dimensional. With the exception of Mark Wood, Reece Topley, Chris Woakes and Sam Curran try to swing the new ball. With little swing on show in the World Cup, they have been exposed by opposition batters. Wood's pace also goes the distance on flat Indian wickets. The biggest disappointment has been leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who was expected to be the leader of the pack. But Rashid hasn't found his groove in the tournament so far. Ben Stokes not bowling has also aggravated England's woes.
