A young dog's carcass has been found nailed shut inside a wooden box in North Lanarkshire.
A member of the public made the appalling discovery on the A71 near Newmains on Monday morning. Blood was allegedly spotted inside the box amid fears the animal had been deliberately abused, the Daily Record reports.
The dog was a Hungarian Vizsla, previously registered in Hungary, according to its microchip. It also reads that the last time the young dog saw a vet was September 2021.
