Ordering Your Transcripts

Have your school(s) send a Final and Official copy of your transcripts to UMD. These must be received by August 1 (Fall start) or January 4 (Spring start). Many schools use Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse. Transcripts can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to UMD Admissions Processing, 184 Darland Admin Bldg., 1049 University Drive, Duluth, MN 55812.

Paying for College

A college degree is a great investment, and there are many resources to help put your education within reach. A great way to start is by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our Financial Aid Educator is ready to guide you and your family through the best financial path.

Orientation, Advisement & Registration

Orientation, Advisement & Registration (OAR) is required for all incoming students. OAR connects you with campus resources, helps you register for classes, and introduces you to the UMD community to set you up for success!

Fall OAR: Sessions are held in June, July, and August. Confirmed students will receive an email invitation to register starting in March.
Spring OAR: This experience is held online only in December and January. Confirmed students will receive an email invitation to register starting in mid-November.

Key Dates & Deadlines

October: Fall and Spring housing apps available. FAFSA opens.
November: Spring start sign up for OAR
December–January: Spring start OAR experience
January–March: Admitted Student Days for Fall start students
March: Fall start sign up for OAR
May: Confirm enrollment and secure your spot in on-campus housing
June–August: Fall start OAR experience
July–August: Parking Permits available; official housing & roommate assignments
August: Move-in, Bulldog Welcome Week, & fall classes begin!
